Information You Provide
Search Queries
When a visitor enters a name, county, or related detail into a search tool on this site, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Wyoming County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own inmate database or keep a local search log for those entries.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, we may keep the name, email address, message text, and any details needed to answer. Those messages are used for response and site administration, and they are not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement applies.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical data when a page loads. That data helps with security, performance, troubleshooting, and understanding how visitors move through the site.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time on page.
- Referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time of the request.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used for analytics, advertising, and site operation. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some features, ads, or partner tools may work differently if cookies are disabled.
How Data Is Used
- To keep the site available, functional, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the appropriate partner service.
- To understand which pages are useful to visitors.
- To detect errors, abuse, or technical problems.
- To support advertising that may be based on visitor interests.
Outside Links
This site links to public jail, sheriff, court, corrections, VINE, DOCCS, BOP, ICE, and other record resources. It also may link to outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy and terms of that outside website control what happens there.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize visits across websites and show interest-based ads. That activity is handled on the partner's systems, not as an official Wyoming County record process. New York Public Officers Law Article 6, the Freedom of Information Law, governs requests to public agencies. It does not make this private site a government records office.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal contact messages. Limited data may be received by the parties that help operate, measure, or lawfully administer the site.
- Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or government bodies when a valid legal order or legal duty requires disclosure.
Data Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect site data. No internet-connected service can be promised as fully secure, and this notice does not guarantee that unauthorized access, interruption, or loss can never occur.
